There are four land types as laid down in the zoning plans of each region. These plans were reviewed recently and will be subject to reappraisal in five years.

Agricultural land is reserved for crop cultivation e.g. olive groves, vineyards.

Building conditions

Construction from coastline – minimum 500 metres
Floor plan area of construction – up to 50 square metres
Number of floors – 1 + basement
Maximum height of basement above ground – 1.2 metres
Minimum plot size – 5,000 square metres
Agricultural use (land must retain purpose)
