| Bol is the oldest
town on Brac and the entertainment centre of the island. The
focal point of the area is Zlatni Rat beach, an extraordinary
tongue of golden sand which extends hundreds of yards into
the ocean and which draws tourists from all over Europe during
the summer to sunbathe on its shores.
Set against the towering backdrop of Vidova Gora, Brac’s
highest mountain, the town itself stretches from Zlatni Rat
in the West to the Benedictine monastery in the East. Everything
is on offer here whether you are looking for late-night beach
parties or an intimate stroll through the heart of the old
town.
For the adventurous there are excursions to the nearby village
of Murvica with its beautiful beach and Dragon’s Cave.
Alternatively there are excellent trekking opportunities along
the slopes of Vidova Gora. On a clear day you will be able
to see all the way across the Adriatic to the coastline of
Italy.
